Some facts about Trondheim:
- Trondheim is the 3rd largest city in Norway, population: 162,000.
- Trondheim was founded in the year 997!
- Trondheim is situated on Trondheimsfjorden, the largest fjord in Norway.
- There is no darkness from May 20 to July 20.
- Trondheim is the original capital of Norway (now the capital is Oslo).
- Leif Erikson lived in Trondeim around 1000; there is a statue of Leif Erikson in Trondheim, but it is a replica... the original is located in Seattle!
Here we are in relation to the USA. We're that green arrow way up north,
lattitude 63°25', about that of Fairbanks, Alaska and Reykjavik, Iceland.
The shortest route to Trondheim from Seattle goes over the top of the globe, passing near the North Pole.
